The Company has been underwriting fishing vessels and workboats for over 125 years and our knowledge and experience now extends to over 12,000 policies in 50 countries. Our aim is to provide exemplary service and protection, and first class security at an economic premium.

The Company has accepted business on an exclusive basis in eastern Canada for more than 32 years. This facility is now being made available to a wider sector of brokers to improve consumer access.

Full packages are available for individual requirements and a range of covers can be provided including Hull & Machinery, War Risks and Protection and Indemnity.

Aquaculture

Sunderland Marine is one of the most established providers of insurance and possibly the longest serving to the aquaculture industry, having issued its first policy for an aquaculture risk in 1986. Today the Company insures more than 20 species in 16 countries and has become the largest single underwriter of aquaculture risks worldwide.

The volatile and relatively high-risk nature of the aquaculture industry requires very focused and selective underwriting techniques. Our wholly owned subsidiary, Aquaculture Risk (Management) Ltd, can provide policyholders with a comprehensive risk management service.

A dedicated and experienced team of underwriters, claims personnel, risk managers and aquaculture specialists work with clients to create innovative and tailor-made packages to ensure the best protection possible for their individual requirements. An integrated "All Risks" policy includes cover for stock, equipment and support craft.
